The theme this year for Art's Birthday is Lite Nite. Light up the night with DIY LED based artworks. Learn how LEDs work, build simple circuits for use in Lite Nite based artworks, help others, collaborate on projects, hack hardware and have fun. Bring your creations to our Art's Birthday 2012 celebration on January 17 and light up the night!

So with a little advice from Sandee(studio mate and homie), I cast my candy project molds with Smooth-On's Crystal Clear Liquid Plastic. This experiment was to see if I could make fake lollies look like the real ones for long term display. So far, looking good after two trials.

Lick My LEDs!

That's the name of my new installation which I am preparing for the Durham Art Gallery in Ontario. The Common Pulse Media Arts Festival will be the weekend of June 10-12. I'll be doing a three week residency as part of the festival. The concept of the project is Candy Computing ver .01. The basic form is Lectric Lollies. I'm combining my recent interest in hard candy making, microcontrollers and electronics. My friend Robert Pasternak is helping out with some cool packaging.
